Ghee Bhat
Ghee Bhat is a Bengali Pulao prepared with veggies and nuts with a sweet taste. essentially a cross between Fried Rice and Pulao.
- 1 cup Basmati rice
- ¼ tsp saffron
- 2 tbsp warm milk
- 3 tbsp Ghee
- 10 cashew nuts
- 50 g raisin
- 2 green cardamoms
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- Wash and soak the rice for min half hour
- Soak saffron in hot milk and keep aside
- Heat the ghee in a heavy bottom pan and add the dried spices
- After 1-2 mins add the drained rice and sauté for 3-4 mins
- Add the required water, salt, sugar and cover and cook the rice till done
- Fry the cashew nuts and raisin in 1 tbsp of ghee and add to the rice.
- Ready to serve!
